Packing also meant we turned up forgotten treasures like the duck whistle from the last time we went on the Ride the Ducks tour with some visitors. It turned out to be quite the dog whistle too (maybe Zane will be able to train Molly one day...):

One evening, we took the opportunity to put outlet covers in all of the outlets at the new house before the furniture was moved in. Although safety experts probably wouldn't recommend your toddler help install the plugs, Zane was an excellent helper when it came to spotting empty plugs and helping to push them in.
On Friday the 14th, the movers came! Molly spent some quality time at doggie daycare hanging with her pals and burning off some energy while the boys were safely out of the way at daycare too. Zane did spot the big trucks on his way out the door in the morning (it was definitely a later night than expected, so needless to say, we were running a touch behind that morning!).
That evening, we picked them up once the movers were gone (they were great!) and we had the cribs put back together. We stopped by the old house to pick up a couple little things and let Zane see it all cleared out. When we got to our bedroom, he exclaimed, "Oh no! You have no bed today!" His genuine concern was quite sweet, and we assured him our bed made it to the new house.
We even had a slumber party that night so that we could all be together in the new house. Caden was in the pack 'n play, and Zane assumed his normal position for whenever he gets to sleep with us... The horizontal part of an "H." That is the best way to stay touching both of us - head burrowing into one set of ribs and feet into the other ;) Amazingly, he didn't wake up when I got up to feed Caden!
That started our flurry of unpacking and attempting to make things as normal as possible for the boys. Zane took a great nap in his new room on Saturday and spent the night in there that night without any problems. Whew.
Molly was nice and tired from playing with her friends when she came home:

Sunday was pretty busy with soccer class in the morning, followed by a visit to Santa! Zane kept calling him "that Christmas boy." Zane and I talked about how he would have to show Caden that it was ok to sit on Santa's lap. We also discussed how Santa asks what he can bring to good girls and boys for Christmas. Zane knew he was running low on Halloween treats, so he asked if Santa would bring him more treats. When Santa asked Zane what he would like for Christmas, he answered, "yellow treats!" Yellow has been a pretty important color, and as my favorite color, I'm generally pretty tickled that he requests for everything to be yellow these days.
Zane did a great job helping Caden with Santa, and Caden was ok with it all since Zane was right by his side. That is until the photographer tried to get him to smile. That was too much, and he started crying. But we have a really cute picture of them. I still haven't scanned it, but I will add it soon!
After Santa, we had a visit from the cable guy... also known as "the table guy." The table guy was fun to watch because he climbed up and down his great big ladder and ran the cable to our house from across the street in the rain.
We had the movers put the high chair in the kitchen, since Caden was going to be eating solids in the not too distant future. He took it for a test spin that night:
