daddy bo baddy

The week of June 10th, Zane woke up with some awesome bed head. :). A haircut is imminent!

Caden got his very first injury report on Tuesday. He whacked himself in the head with a puzzle piece. Ouch! That evening, Zane took his very last swim class with me in the pool with him. He also seemed to think he didn't need any floats either and kept letting go of the kick bar. Caden continued to get into mischief by scooting around on his belly:

On Saturday, we got to celebrate Cooper's 1st birthday, and on Sunday, Father's Day, the boys got to celebrate daddy! It was a fun weekend.

waddler

Monday, June 3rd, Caden turned 45 weeks old, and it was his very first official day in the waddler room at school. He did great, and he had been spending lots of time over there already. He continued moving from sitting to his belly a bunch and sliding himself around on his belly for a funny army crawl.

The rest of the week was pretty normal, but we did get our patio furniture put together that weekend, with the help of Zane of course!

adventures in flying

On Monday May 27th, we headed back to grandma and grandpa's house. On the way, we stopped off to see Tal and Kimberly's new house. It was awesome (and Texas-sized!), and we got more yummy tex-mex in our bellies with some of our favorite people.

Caden got to meet more friends and family while we were in town. We even got to check out the peacocks that live in a nearby neighborhood.

Wednesday evening the boys and I headed back to Seattle, while daddy stayed behind for a boys' golf trip in San Antonio. Gulp.

The flight generally went ok, besides Zane defiantly talking back at the flight attendants over the intercom and a couple other moments... my hopes of overtired Zane falling asleep were dashed as he got more wired. And airplane restrooms feel extra cozy with 3 people in them, even if 2 of them are small. We even made it to the car ok... I'm pretty sure I looked like a pack mule: Caden on my front in the ergo carrier, the car seat backpack, rolling our giant suitcase in one hand with the diaper bag on top of that, and Zane's hand in the other. At least Zane was still excited about wearing his backpack and I didn't have to carry that too!

Caden had his last two days in the baby room at school on Thursday and Friday! That weekend Zane and I spent some quality time on the floor trying to teach Caden how to crawl! We also let Caden try out a sippy for the first time. He was really excited about it:

10 months

The following week of May 20th, Zane had field day at school on Tuesday. He was super excited about all of the events and filled up his card with stickers for participating in all of them, like running around a little track, a bean bag toss, and even weight lifting.

That Thursday, Caden turned 10 months old!

After being home for an entire week, it was time to head out of town again... this time to Houston. We got into town on Saturday afternoon, ate some tex-mex, saw some family friends, met a tiny brand new baby, and got to play with grandma and grandpa. Including the airport time and flight, it was an action packed day for Caden's first trip to Houston!

On Sunday, we headed up to the lake to visit with one of our favorite families, and Zane got to reunite with his long distance (girl)friend, Dinny! Zane went swimming, tried out the seadoos, went on a boat ride, and even went on a paddle board! Caden was a fan of the boat!
