resolution

Zane's resolution for 2012 is to learn how to pronounce "truck" properly.  He LOVES trucks, and is quite exuberant whenever he sees or hears one.  If we're walking Molly, walking home from school, or walking through Target's toy section and Zane sees a truck, he generally shouts out "TRUCK!"  This is often followed by "I want truck!!" or "More truck! More! TRUUUUUCK!"  While we appreciate his enthusiasm, his pronunciation of "truck" can turn a few heads...  instead of a "t" sound, what usually comes out is an "f" sound.  Even his teacher said she did a double take the first time she heard him say it, and asked him to repeat it a few times to make sure he meant "truck" when he said "fruck." :)  At least he has the "r" sound in there!  So, whether he likes it or not, that's our goal for the year!  I think he can do it!!

He's already accomplished some exciting things.... like eating his most successful bowl of cheerios with milk to date:

His teething is still going strong... as poor Teddy knows all too well:

He's a tough bear though; Teddy has been chomped on quite a bit, and he's still smiling through it all!  Zane's even taken to chomping on a spoon after his bath before bedtime all week.

We also finally moved him to a booster seat a couple of weeks ago so that he can really sit at the table with us.  It's been a pretty smooth transition, and really no messier.  He still threatens to "dump" his plate or bowl, but he announces it instead of just doing it now... so we can catch it before it happens.  The newest addition to our house is a free-standing Zane-sized potty and a Zane-sized seat that fits on a regular potty... both yet to be officially used, but around Christmas Zane started talking about potties over and over again because there was a lot of excitement about one of the girls that just moved up from his class into the 2's room that was potty training.  So Zane and another of his friends started saying that they potty like Sophie too. :)  I still think he's far from ready, but we'll roll with it!  I definitely don't want to discourage it!
