adventures in flying

On Monday May 27th, we headed back to grandma and grandpa's house. On the way, we stopped off to see Tal and Kimberly's new house. It was awesome (and Texas-sized!), and we got more yummy tex-mex in our bellies with some of our favorite people.

Caden got to meet more friends and family while we were in town. We even got to check out the peacocks that live in a nearby neighborhood.

Wednesday evening the boys and I headed back to Seattle, while daddy stayed behind for a boys' golf trip in San Antonio. Gulp.

The flight generally went ok, besides Zane defiantly talking back at the flight attendants over the intercom and a couple other moments... my hopes of overtired Zane falling asleep were dashed as he got more wired. And airplane restrooms feel extra cozy with 3 people in them, even if 2 of them are small. We even made it to the car ok... I'm pretty sure I looked like a pack mule: Caden on my front in the ergo carrier, the car seat backpack, rolling our giant suitcase in one hand with the diaper bag on top of that, and Zane's hand in the other. At least Zane was still excited about wearing his backpack and I didn't have to carry that too!

Caden had his last two days in the baby room at school on Thursday and Friday! That weekend Zane and I spent some quality time on the floor trying to teach Caden how to crawl! We also let Caden try out a sippy for the first time. He was really excited about it:
