undies!!!

Caden turned 36 weeks old on Monday, April 1st. He added prunes to his new food list, and that was the high point of his week. Caden had a cold that seemed to keep getting worse. He got so stuffy toward the end of the week that he drank about 10 oz less than normal for a couple days. He was also pulling at his ear some, so his teachers and I were convinced he had an ear infection. Nope. I took him to the doctor on Saturday morning, and his ears were all clear. It was nice to get confirmation that it was just a bad cold though. And he started clearing up right after that of course!


Zane, on the other hand, had a very exciting week! On Wednesday, he ended his long standing boycott of the potties at school, and then declared that he wanted undies. So on Thursday and Friday, Zane went to school with a stack of clean undies and pants in his cubby. He was outrageously excited, and so were we! It was a success, and he only had one accident on Thursday.


He continued his successful streak, and even hit up the potty at soccer, Costco, and a restaurant. Zane and I decided to celebrate by going to the zoo on Sunday. We left daddy to get some work done and let Caden have some more quiet time at home to recuperate.


It was a little rainy, so it wasn't too crowded. It was us, some other families with young kids in rain gear, and a few tourists with giant golf umbrellas. :) We had a good time and made our way around half the zoo before we had to head home for lunch and nap. Zane's favorite part was checking out the tractor near the farm animals.


It was also close to his latest away from home potty break. Zane was a total potty champ! Here's a closer shot to appreciate Zane wearing his tractor rain coat while sitting on a tractor:


Although it was rainy on Sunday morning, the weather is really starting to turn more spring like and it's staying light out longer. That means we've gotten an opportunity to enjoy our new view a little more... aka, "the majesty," as Zane and daddy like to refer to it at sunset. When it's dark, it's fun to watch the ferry all lit up:
