happy father's day

Happy Father's Day to all of the dads out there!! Zane took care of his daddy by making him a card, picking out a bacon gift basket and getting him a book all about Zane's favorite super hero - daddy!

We also celebrated a little early by taking him out to an early dinner yesterday and accompanying him to the driving range. The driving range went as I'd been predicting it would, pretty much since Zane was born, but since it was Father's Day weekend, we decided to humor him and give it a shot. Zane was pretty excited when we filled the bucket of balls ("ball!!"). Then he was pretty squirmy while he watched daddy take a few shots. Then Zane and I walked over to the nearby playground and spent the rest of the trip there. :)

Zane has been pretty excited about apples and bananas this week. I think he's woken up most mornings talking about one or the other. ("apple. Apple. Daddy. Apple. Apple. Mama. Apple. Nana. Mommy" <-- that means Molly) Zane also turned 16 months old today! In other big kid news, he managed to spear some scrambled eggs with his fork yesterday. :)
