double rainbow

The following week of June 24th, the power was out on our block when we got home on Tuesday, which meant that the garage door wasn't opening for us and Zane was extremely concerned about the broken garage door but assured me that daddy would fix it. Once we got inside, there was also a smoke detector that coincidentally needed a new battery and was beeping. It made for a very nervous Zane! So that meant I got to carry two boys around the house while we searched for the culprit to replace its battery - quite the workout! It was all better though when Zane spotted a rainbow from one our side windows when I was getting the boys ready for bed, so we stopped to check it out and talk about colors. :)


That week Caden broke out his clapping skills at every opportunity, and Zane was wowing us with his big jump in letter recognition. He points out letters on signs while driving, in books, anywhere! We also had a pretty hot weekend and spent lots of time outside enjoying the weather.
