teeth

The following week of July 15th, Caden finally had a tooth poke through on Wednesday, the bottom right one in the front. By the weekend, his second tooth, the top left, was barely surfacing. His teeth move incredibly slowly, and it makes for one unhappy Caden! Even once they broke the surface, they continued moving up ever so slowly. He had "toothlets" for quite a while!

The week was generally filled with more crawling, pulling up on everything, and getting stuck in a standing position. Zane had the last class of his swim session, and he was so incredibly excited because he got to touch the bottom when he jumped in (of the 4' deep area). The pictures above are also how we regularly get to spend some quality time in the evening around dinner - Caden's high chair rolled over to the powder room door, me sitting on the step stool sometimes reading the potty book, and Zane chatting on the potty. :)

That weekend was the big summer parade for our neighborhood. It was the same one that we went to just before Caden was born last year. They had a good time, and we caught the highlight of it for Zane, the SPD and Vancouver PD motorcycle demos!

Of course a close second on the excitement scale was all of the emergency vehicles...

And a tow truck hauling two cars!! Can you believe it???

There were also plenty of floats and marching bands, and of course the pirate ship (from the same pirates that landed on the beach a couple weeks ago). Caden didn't even flinch at the canon. He's clearly accustomed to loud noises as a little brother. We also had a fun play date/house warming that weekend.
